A leader is a person who influences a group of people toward the achievement of a goal. These implies Leadership is the act according to the definition stated above. 

It seems a bit straight here. Let us break this down.There are three important words in this statement.

(Influence > People > Goal) 

This are the steps to becoming a Leader. And each of those stages has its system and this systems defines your result. We would want to say goals is the end point but, no. Goals are time bound, vision is not. Vision has no expiry date, its the reason you and i are on this mortal terrain. 

So therefore, the foundation of leadership is influence, meanwhile the content of a person’s influence is defined by his principles and values he possesses.  Hence, their is only one way I know you can build influence, which I am going to explain in the next paragraph. Take a glass of water and relax as we go on this journey together 🙂

We can only build influence by living in your world and standing by it. It is about standing up for what you believe without being distracted by what people say about you. Leadership can also be said to be negative, it doesn’t always come with a positive result, that resilience, effontary and gutsy to stick to the plan under any circumstances is the real deal; within this context. This is why the absence of love in whatever we do brings in negativity. Your decision of what you stand for, is really crucial either negative or positive but certainly, you will get what you desire. The result whereby, will be the quality of your followers. 

Influence > People

Now that you have had some level of influence, the people that keyed into that belief of yours will serve as the catalyst. They will enhance the hope of getting the work done. But their is something that will make this possible in between, still yet to be mentioned though.                                 It is Diligence. The efficacy of that word is beyond its pronunciation.

The Latin word for Diligence is Diligere – “Love, takes delight in”.       It can also be a constant effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing.

Patience is a perequisite to being a good leader because after your influence then comes the ability to manage those you are guiding. People’s management skill is the determinant, if those you’ve been accountable for will stay or leave. This will form your legacy, especially when you are absent. I believe no one will want to take someone who can’t even challenge himself as a leader. 

Precede with patience in deliberate action, know when to go hard and soft, afar more let love guide you. 

Leadership is simply taking responsibility for oneself, being able to lead and follow one ownself is good leadership. People follow those that can follow themselves and are result oriented. 

It is a crucial aspect of life, which is the self awareness for responsibility that makes up a leader, not the power persay. We have mistaken power for leadership and vice versa. 

Compelling and Showing Example, are too different words with opposite meaning. A leader can be a politician but not the other way around. 

Solve problems, lead yourself, acquire more knowlegde, train them to know more than yourself, make them feel secured around you, learn from them, focus and be selfless. 

Knowing when to be harsh and lenient, makes you one step ahead of them. 

People > Goal

Do it and others will follow. Love and be courageous!
